Sarah Palin’s Intelligence and the Stupidity of the Media

I’m starting to lose faith in the media’s propagandist idea that “if you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it.” Sadly, there is no definitive version of this quote and we do not know who said it, though it is mostly attributed to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

What I mean by, “losing faith” is that I’m beginning to believe those in the mainstream media are absolutely stupid. We think of the dumbing down of America and yet we somehow believe those who think of themselves as elites are immune to this dumbing down. The Liberal elites have been preaching non-sense for almost a century. By now, I believe, they are as stupid as they think the average American is.

Over the past week or so, the MSM has been all over Sarah Palin for claiming that Paul Revere’s ride had been to warn the British that they weren’t going to take away the weapons of armed Americans. They called her stupid. Over the following days the stupidity of the media became evident. Not only was Sarah Palin right, but the media (and most schools) view Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem about Paul Revere’s ride as history and that’s basically it. That’s not to say Longfellow’s poem is wrong, but when there is a primary source to view from the man who actually rode the ride, that trumps the secondary account. There is a letter that Paul Revere wrote in 1798 that details the entire ride and in it he mentions warning the British that they wouldn’t be able to disarm the Americans.

They'll lie about Palin but don't talk about Romney yet no one ask's why.

To have Romney gain the power as the front runner in the GOP would be disastrous as the Liberal's still win because they still have a Liberal Socialist to do their biddings.

Disaster's can be avoided if we push to regain our conservative values that made our country great and those values come from people like Sarah!

    • Dave

In no way was Sarah Palin referring to the brief time that Paul Revere was captured by the British.

She was talking about his ride when he warned the Colonists that the Redcoats were coming. She just plain got it wrong. People get things wrong all the time and we can forgive them for that but don't try to rewrite history to make her sound like what she said is what she meant to say. She just plain flubbed it.

      • Vagabond

        • Mary Kilbourne

Seems like the pot's calling the kettle black here….it would help if you could actually SPELL correctly!

      • jjdebird

Obviously loyal Britsh subjects could not hear Paul Revere's warning as he road by.

The media would like to control the message from way back then too.

To say the loyal Brits living along the route Revere road had no warning of what was going on is nuts.

        • Dave

          ???

"He who warned uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

    • Bobbie

      AMEN, I AGREE RICHARD

    • Kathleen

Of course they want Romney. They are pushing him as "main stream" because they believe he is beatable. The only reason he can win is the numbers who do not want Obama for second term.

Speaking of the Obama. Read a blog that stated how Obama when he finishes his speech will lean his head back, nose up. It not only shows "arrogant" body language, but it allows him to survey his audience and their reaction. Scarey thought, "So did Hitler!"

    • Doc

Even though Romney isn't a perfect candidate, and although I truly like, admire, and relate to Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman, I still think Romney is the one to beat Obama

  • DAN

If we would spend as much time working on the problems of this country instead of wasting time debating the diversions, a lot more would be accomplished. Lets quit squabbling over unimportant details like what Paul Revere might have said. Who cares! Let's focus on the facts we know. Such as we are about to lose our country if we don't all wake up.

    • Dave

No kidding – why am I even reading this story!

    • barbieB

No kidding. Why doesn't the liberal nuts just stop with bashing Palin and TRY to come up with solutions to save out country, cause now it aint the British that are comin!! It's the Socialist and Communists…..And besides, Sarah, would not be so stupid that she didn't know, duh!!, what is commone knowledge that he (Revere) shouted the British are coming!!! How stupid are those that even think that?? She added a little twist and tweeked the outcome. Got a lot of attention, eh??? haha, jokes on you………

    • Kathleen

And we consistently ignore Obama's bluppers like 57 states. Had a college professor that refered to the average American Male as watching the boob tube, drinking, beer and sweating." This was in the 60s. The media believes this relies on them.

  • Tea Partier

The left liberal Democrats (and the radical media) FEAR Sarah Palin above all others. Here's why — she's RIGHT. She has a "voice" of reality, and expresses very well the facts about Liberalism FAILURES.

Dont mess with the "hockeymoms", especially SARAH. The MEDIA is being exposed by articulate CONSERVATIVE American ladies.

Hooohaaaah ! GO get 'em SARAH !

Over the opposition of oil companies, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin and Alaska’s Legislature in 2007 approved a major increase in taxes on the oil industry — a step that has generated stunning new wealth for the state as oil prices soared. …

BP Alaska, which runs Prudhoe Bay, said earlier this year that it had delayed the development in the western region of the North Slope as a result of the tax. ConocoPhillips cited the same reason for scrapping a $300 million refinery project.

“What the tax has done is take away all the upside,” said Doug Suttles, president of BP Alaska. The U.K.-based oil company paid more than $500 million in taxes to Alaska last quarter — far more than it earned in profits from Alaskan oil, according to Suttles.

Investment dollars are flowing instead to places that have a better return, like the massive deep-water projects offshore in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, where ConocoPhillips said the government take equals less than 50 percent of the barrel.

    • 1Arnold

The news media should know by now the more they bash Sara the more popular she becomes. If they would leave her alone she would likley go away. It is the main stream media that has made her so popular. So boys keep it up.

      • Dave

More popular to a very small crowd.

    • Will Jameson

The liberal elite are afraid of people like Sarah Palin because they are not able to intimidate her or CONTROL HER like they are able to do with most politicians. She acts out of conscience, and fairness – based on Judeo-Christian conservative and traditional values – not a set of floating beliefs that fluctuate depending upon which way the wind is blowing, or who is the highest bidder. She also exposes their hypocrisy, and neutralizes the monopoly on the debate that they try to maintain with their pseudo-intellectualism, over-exaggerated self importance, and disingenuous fabrications on a variety of fronts. She is far closer to the average American, and has a much clearer understanding of what is important to normal citizens…and she is HONEST. What a novelty!

  • Tea Partier

I just love that "WE THE PEOPLE" bus…go get 'em SARAH.

And, isn't it AWESOME watching the MEDIA whine and groan and rant about not having the BUS TOUR ROUTEs so they can plan ahead toward paying left winged hairy legged wimmens, and girley men CROWDs to disrupt the TOUR.

SARAH is far ahead of the MEDIA…ha ha …'AINT IT GREAT ! !

    Sarah has GRIT !

  • John W

Here's the setup for my comment: I like Sarah Palin. I would vote for her without hesitation if she were the Republican nominee. Herman Cain is my first choice, but Sarah is a close second.

I grew up in Lexington, MA went to the Jonas Clarke Jr. High School (now called middle school and spelled "Clark" at time I went there. Reverend Clarke was an in law of John Hancock and a prominent player in this story. I went to the (Sam) Adams Elementary school (now a Waldorf School) as well and as you can probably guess, we were heavily indoctrinated with the details of this battle.

Gov. Palin is correct about Revere warning the British (or more accurately telling the British that he had warned the colonists at that Americans were already amassing). But he wasn't ringing any bells or firing any shots. That just didn't happen. She came across as unprepared and if you're going into Massachusetts, the belly of the liberal beast (and an important historical site) you had better have your facts straight. Especially after Michelle Bachmann went on about the battles in Lexington & Concord NH!

It would be like going to the Boston Garden tonight and telling a crowd of Bruins fans about the great goal Bobby Orr scored against St. Louis as he did a triple lutz while eating a lobster soaked in baked beans. I’m well aware of the gaffes of Joe Biden (FDR on TV comforting the nation during the Great Depression) and Obama’s verbal stumbling when asked about abortion. I’ve also seen his oafish protocol breach when toasting the Queen. But those are two gentlemen I’d never vote for. Conservatives should have higher standards.

I forgive her (and she's probably completely versed in the battle now). And again, I'd vote for her in a second. She took on the Republican establishment and oil companies and she signed into law a bill to make Alaska 50% renewable by 2025. In contrast, President Obama's US goal was 25% and then he threw out a "goal" (not a law, just a wish) to make America 85% renewable by 2035. She puts her money where her mouth is. Her son went to Iraq. She struggled with a large family while having all her dirty laundry aired in public. She's all substance (unlike the current White House occupant). But next time, if she does go an historic hot spot, I’d like to see her hit a comment out of the park.

    • Vagabond

John I think you just hit a home run, loved it,

"I like Herman Cain, but I will not vote for him. He has not said one world about all the Illegals .He may put Obama down now and again ,but I would like to know where Mr Cain is getting his money ,to run for President .I think MrCain is just another Obama ,and we will never find out where his money is coming from till it may be too late .. Now I would't mind Palin for President and Cain for Vice !!

      • John W

He may be blowing smoke, but here's a recent video of his position:

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeZbbmO6q5M&fe

And a quote from that video:

"I just got back from China. Ever heard of the Great Wall of China? It looks pretty sturdy. And that sucker is real high. I think we can build one if we want to! We have put a man on the moon, we can build a fence! Now, my fence might be part Great Wall and part electrical technology. . . . Put me in charge of the fence and it will be a twenty foot wall, barbed wire, electrified on the top. And on this side of the fence, I’d have that moat that President Obama talked about. And I would put those alligators in that moat!"

As for where he's getting his money? If you mean that he might be revealed to be some trilateral commission-Bilderberg-Trojan Horse candidate, well I guess anyone could be. But the man was CEO of Godfather's Pizza and brought it in the black, turned 400 Burger Kings from least to most profitable around the Philadelphia area, has degrees in mathematics and computer science, did ballistics work for the US Navy, helped derail Clinton's '93 Health Care Bill and has written 4 books on leadership. If that's not anti-Obama enough, I don't know what is. Yes, he was on the board of directors with the Federal Reserve in Kansas City, but unlike the current crop running the show, has real world experience turning businesses around.

But if you mean where will he get enough money to be a serious contender; that will be a challenge coming up against someone like Mitt. But he's a pretty formidable business leader in his own right and if he gets some steam, all bets are off!

        -John

        • Teresia

Thanks, John, for the head's up on the YouTube on the great wall of China….loved it. If all you say about Cain is true he would make a formidable candidate…I'd vote for him IF he beat Palin, who is my first choice.

  • [email protected]

OK AMERICA, it is time to wake up and encourage Sarah Palin to run for president because she is the only one at this point that can bet Obama!

She would get my vote in a second. We just cannot afford another 4 years of this idiot Obama.

    PLEASE RUN SARAH PALIN 2012

    • Dave the Raver

ANY republican could beat Pres. Obama, or should be able to, if we dont split our opposition between GOP and third party. There are many people with many reasons to oppose this Pres; we just need to be united.

      • Vagabond

so very true Dave. I remember when Ross Perot and his third party gave slick willie the presidency. I will not vote for any third party candidate,

      • armyvet

There could be no one as bad as the current WH Squatter! I will vote for anyone opposing him. However, I would preferr a Palin, Bachmann, Cain candidate!

“We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada. And I think now, isn’t that ironic?” –Sarah Palin, admitting that her family used to get treatment in Canada’s single-payer health care system, despite having demonized such government-run programs as socialized medicine that will lead to death-panel-like rationing, March 6, 2010

  • Len

If Palin was on the Democratic ticket she would be called St. Palin by now. The media would protect her like they protect Obama. If Obama was on the Republican ticket he would still be a senator today. The main stream media is not going to give any Republican the forum that they would give a Democrat.

Where's Clara Peller when you need her?

I am absolutely sure that Obama has something to do with the media acting in the same exact way that Obama does every chance he gets. He most likely told the Media they would no longer have access to him if they did not do a hatchet job on Palin.

    • jjdebird

Obama & the media are controlled by the same people. People like Pelosi, Barney & Harry along with others who knew they could never be elected president found a way to build & controll their own.

Hope & Change were created & tested long before Obama was in the running.

The economy & home values were messed with by democrats to swing the people their way when Al Gore lost the election even though he had more total votes, just not total states.

Thank you founding fathers for your wisdom. They understood that someday the country could be controlled by over populated cities & states, who could tell the farmers & producers in the less populated states what to do.

      • Dave

Yes but it is the less populated states that get more federal money back than they pay in. Kind of like welfare states.

  • http://yahoo PecosBob

History will tell that G.W Bush also warned the Al Queda leader's that we were coming. Who can forget the N.Y scence with President Busth atop that firetruck in a devasted area amid the Twin Towers collapse…."I can hear you! And soon, the people who did this, will hear from all of us". Thank Mr. President.

  • jjdebird

The media wants us to see Palin the way they want to package her. They want the Saturday Night Live version, not the real world truth.

The media knows if they do not control who the GOP runs Obama is in big trouble.

    • Dave

Plus it was a really goofy thing for her to say and it is almost as funny as Congressman Weiner.

  • siteunseen

Sarah's our brightest and best Candidate running for President! How about Sarah Palin/Rick Perry or Rick Perry/Sarah Palin. That would knock the socks off of the entire Lamestream Media. They'd be so busy trying to find fault with Prayer Breakfasts and Pro-Life Rallies, they'd go absolutely nuts. Go get 'em Sarah!

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Overwhelm the system

Barack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos — thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate ( Columbia University , class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University . They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below.

Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival … and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

    – Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

    – Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

    – Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

    – Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America . But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

    – Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions — including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America . The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

    – Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme — all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.

    • Daniel T. Osborn

Well said James, and a very frightening scenario. This just highlights even more the reason why we need to make Barry take a walk out of Washington for good in 2012!

  • Florence Wynn

Why is it so important if Sarah Palin made a mistake in her comments concerning Paul Revere's ride? She is a private citizen and she has the right to make a mistake or two as she goes about confusing the Democrats who are trying to figure her out. Obama has made enough mistakes of his own so why doesn't anyone recall them. The one that sticks in my mind most is his pronunciation of the word Corps when referring to the Marine Corps. No one made any mention of that for fear of the race card being thrown at them. Am I the only one that remembers how he said that he had to visit 7 more states? He had already visited 50. There are many more that he has made so you Republicans should not let them be forgotten if the Dems continue to hammer Sarah Palin.

    • daves

You are absolutely correct. I cannot believe so many people are trying to say she got it right. It's not that big of a deal.

Sarah was ALSO correct in her "Let's party like its 1773" comment. The tea parties of revolutionary days were founded in 1773 – the declaration was written in 1776! Palin is brilliant the liberal biased media and the "elites" are totally laughable and dumb!

The "elites" Marxist agenda was introduced into congressional records in 1963. They have indeed accomplished almost all of their goals including, "Take over one or both of the political parties." Thanks to (Republicans/Independents/ and buyer's remorse Democrats) tea parties the truth is coming out. Go Sarah Palin the only honest politician.
