Congress Attempted to Remove ‘Natural Born Citizen’ Requirement

There were eight attempts by members of Congress during the years Barack Obama was developing a power base and running for president to remove the Constitution’s requirement that a president be a “natural-born citizen,” suggesting an organized strategy, according to a new video.

Documentation for this video comes from a variety of congressional records showing that beginning June 11, 2003, and continuing through the most recent effort, Feb. 28, 2008, there were eight proposals targeting that constitutional requirement.

It outlines the specifics:

  • June 11, 2003, Rep. Vic Snyder, D-Ark., brought HJR 59. It was intended to “permit persons who are not natural born citizens of the United States, but who have been citizens of the United States for at least 35 years, to be eligible to hold the offices of president and vice president.”
  • Sept. 3, 2003, Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., brought HJR67, which would have done the same as Snyder’s, only the requirement to be a citizen was lowered to 20 years.
  • Feb. 25, 2004, Sen. Don Nickles, R-Okla., brought S.B. 2128 to “try to counter the growing Democrat onslaught aimed at removing the natural born citizen requirement.” But it defined NBC as someone who was born in and is subject to the United States,” which was not the understanding of the framers of the Constitution.
  • Sept. 15, 2004, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., brought HJR 104, “to make eligible for the office of president a person who is not a natural born citizen of the United States but has been a United States citizen for at least 20 years.
  • Jan. 4, 2005, Conyers, D-Mich., HJR2, the same as Rohrabacher’s.
  • Feb. 1, 2005, HJR15, Rohrabacher, to require only 20 years citizenship to be eligible for the office of president.
  • April 14, 2005, Snyder, HJR42, requiring 35 years’ citizenship.
  • Feb. 28, 2008, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., tried to attach to SB 2678, Children of Military Families Natural Born Citizen Act, an amendment clarifying what “natural-born citizen” includes. Obama and then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., were sponsors.

    Where there’s smoke; there’s fire. Any of these legislators remaining in congress who tried to water down the original intent of the founding fathers needs to be voted out of office.

    And upon Obama’s departure from office his documents need to be unsealed in order to ultimately determine his eligibility to become President and if he was aided in a treasonous attempt to fraudulently hold office.

    Every one that knew Obama was not a citizen natural born they should all go to jail for at least ten years and lose their lawyer licenses to boot . This is not a laughing matter it puts us in a place where everything this guy signed would be null and void . It would take a lot of time to correct all the mistakes this guy made. The democrats wanted the presidency so bad they would have sold their own countrymen down the river,. it is time to start looking at who knew and when they knew . I am more convinced then ever now that the birth certificate has been called a forgery that he is not a natural born citizen . by the way you can call me any name you want it will not change what I think , nor will it change the facts.

    I believe the Framers put this requirement in to help insure undivided loyalties in the Commander-in-Chief! In other words a guy who would always put America's interests first, not bow to the King of Saudi Arabia or prostrate us to the UN! The Framers were pretty wise guys!! Any attempt to remove this is only leading us down the pathway to globalism and the one world government so favored by despots like Hitler and ultimately the Antichrist spoken of in the Bible!

    I guess Obama's con worked ,he got elected even without any political experience except for the art of lying.He had the support of the Black Panthers,Acorn,a bunch of funeral homes and cemeteries.This time he will have illegals,welfare scammers,deceased,and most of the Blacks.He is an illegal Socialist idiot and he should of been impeached long ago.The only thing he cares about is spending the taxpayers money and where him and Moochele can go on their next vacation.
