Congress Urges Review of Kagan Obamacare Role

Back in May Judicial Watch uncovered explosive documents from the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ) indicating Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan was heavily involved in crafting a defense for Obamacare while she served as Solicitor General. The documents appear to contradict Kagan’s contention that she was merely an uninvolved bystander. Well, now Congress has joined the effort to get to the truth in the matter, calling for a full investigation.

According to  The Washington Times:

Forty-nine Republican members of Congress have asked the House Judiciary Committee to “promptly investigate” Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan’s role in preparing a legal defense for President Obama’s health care law when she served as solicitor general.

In a letter to committee Chairman Lamar Smith, Texas Republican, and the panel’s ranking Democrat, John Conyers Jr. of Michigan, the lawmakers said that “contradictory to her 2010 confirmation testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee,” recently released Justice Department documents show that Justice Kagan “actively participated with her Obama administration colleagues in formulating a defense” for the law.

    Is it me or does the DOJ seem to be in the news more during the Obama administration than any of the last 5 administrations? Also, is Holder a citizen of the US?

The supreme court is no better. Whoever is honest with themselves cannot argue this man Holder is trying to interfere in everything, border security, states rights, whatever he disagrees with.

    This is without a doubt the most corrupt administration in this nation's entire history. It is particularly disgusting that the Department of "Justice" appears NOT to deserve it's name. It should probably be called the Department of Corruption. Holder is nothing more than a sock puppet……………he has no integrity whatever. It will be a wonderful day when all these people are gone. Unlike other administrations, I can't think of a single Cabinet member OR individual who is serving this President who is not as corrupt and venal as he. Obama and all his "lackeys" are a total disgrace to a country which was once considered a model for for all countries to emulate. Is there any further we can fall?

      Consider that our SOS's assistant is a Muslim married to a Jew!! Anthony Weiner's wife, Abedin is Muslim and the assistant to our Secretary of State H. R. Clinton. Why is there no hue and cry about this Islamically illegal relationship – if there is not "some higher calling" she is on??
      Put another way, imagine CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood and Sisterhood having a "front and center" seat into all our top level secret political and military workings and you see where we really have reason to "get on our knees and pray" for deliverance from this diabolical administration.

    The Supreme Court is just like the Congress. They all say "it's your day to vote no or it's your day to vote yes." Which ever the need may be. Why else is the answer always 5 to 4 against or or 5 to 4 for on all issues. They sit back and laugh at us stupid voters. They make us think they are doing a good job.

    There apparently is no limit to the "IN YO FACE" decisions made by DEMONcrats in all their decisions. They can't get any more transparent or obvious. The manly Justice Kagen screams of the ultimate socialist and should not be judging anything. She should not be forced to recuse herself on Healthcare. Comically, if she had any respect for the law she would voluntarily remove herself.

      RJJ: Kagan shoud be removed from the bench for lying to Congress. If her face is on the bench and participating in the health care debate on it validity, the Chief Justice should not allow her vote and I think Judge Roberts will do exactly that.

    Lee Harvey Oswald would be very busy with Obama and his administration, the zars, some governors, some Senators, and some Congessmen & women………. thinking of Texas, Missouri, and California women in particular? In New Orleans the residents are never buried, but are "Quick Limed" above ground. That sounds very practical and simple when people pass away unexpectantly?

    Aww shoot : what's a little quid pro quo amongst friends? Elena Kagen is such a lovely person; how could anyone be so mean spirited as to even suggest in jest that anything untoward could be possibly wrong with her nomination to the SCOTUS?

    And then to give her the "coop de grass" with the insinuation that she may have mis-stated her qualifications to increase the Courts Liberal leverage…..impossible and unbielievable.

    Wow, another liberal lying to Congress for personal gain, whoda thunk it! Ethical misconduct is definitely grounds for impeachment. She would be only the second Supreme in history to be impeached, the first was Samuel Chase, he was impeached by the House, and acquitted by the Senate, which would probably happen in this case as well, considering the libs still control the Senate, for now…

    Every person Obama has assigned or nominated are Nazis wanting to help him be king. That's how they got their postition. Regarding vetting that whole thing is a joke. Their vetting is asking if they want the job and will help Obama and as soon as they say 'yes' then the job is theirs.     I am convinced that Kagan was nominated by Obama precisely because she had worked on Obamacare. I am certain that Obama knew, or at least strongly believed, that his health care reform bill's Constitutionality would untimately have to be tested before the Supreme Court and who better to serve on that Court than a judge who had helped to create it.

    Kagan lied to Congress. She is an Oathbreaker. If they do investigate and reveal the lies she better be sent to prison for breaking her Oath to God, to Congress and to the people when she swore to tell the truth and uphold the Constitution. I would not be satisfied with just outsting her from the court. Ginsberg and sotomeyor should also be investigated. They don't abide by what they told Congress.

      Lets just hope that old bat Ginsberg doesn't crook till have we get a Republican President. Kennedy said he would not retire until Obama is out of office. If a Republican President could put two conservatives on the bench we'd be on the road to recovery.

    Kagan lied to Congress. Roger Clemens of baseball fame is being indicted right now for the same offense!! Will she be indicted also, or will politics allow a two-tier Justice System – one for marxist Obama's cronies, and another for common citizens – to exist? The DOJ is compromised up to its ears under Holder for not bringing charges against the Black Panther group who threatened voters at a polling place last election. This 2012 election holds more violence in store for us if this Washington Administration is not impeached, imprisoned and impeded from doing any more harm to our Constitution and American Citizens.
