Group Charged with ‘Conspiracy’ for Selling Unpasteurized Milk

Assault on independent health accelerates as retailers charged with conspiracy, ‘mislabeling cheese.’

Multiple sources have confirmed the fact that all three individuals arrested– James Stewart, Victoria Bloch and Sharon Palmer– are being charged with ‘conspiracy’ related to the sell of unpasteurized raw milk products.

A multi-agency SWAT-style armed raid was conducted Wednesday morning by helmet-wearing, gun-carrying enforcement agents from the LA County Sheriff’s Office, the FDA, the Dept. of Agriculture and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).

Rawesome Foods, a private buying club offering wholesome, natural raw milk and raw cheese products (among other wholesome foods) is founded by James Stewart, a pioneer in bringing wholesome raw foods directly to consumers through a buying club. James was followed from his private residence by law enforcement, and when he entered his store, the raid was launched.

Law enforcement demanded that all customers (members) of the store vacate the premises, then they demanded to know how much cash James had at the store. When James explained the amount of cash he had at the store — which is used to purchase product for selling there — agents demanded to know why he had such an amount of cash and where it came from.

James was handcuffed, wasneverread his rights and was stuffed into anunmarkedcar. While agents said they would leave behind a warrant, no one has yet had any opportunity to even see if such a warrant exists or if it is a complete warrant.

Law enforcement then proceeded to destroy the inventory of the store by pouring the milk down the drain and / or confiscating raw cheese and fresh produce for destruction.

Shall we then fight with force to stop this insane tyranny?we may yet have to engage the second amendment, which was written for such a time and purpose as this when the government becomes our enemy.
Resist tyranny, it's your Constitutional duty to your fellow citizens.

    • David

      We're definitely nearing that point.

    • klemod

You are so right! That is a threat of deadly force, by an out of control Govt. Their actions are clearly abusive and Unconstitutional. If this were me .. I would have met them with equal or superior force .. and would have my "friends" backing me up .. at their flank. Things are going to have to get ugly when it comes to this kind of crap. This kind of Government needs to be sent a message [deadly if need be] … and it's coming soon to a theater near you!!!! -klemod-

If this was a private club and they were selling to the people that belonged to this private club, I don’t think the government has a right to tell us what we can and can not eat.
I am allergies! the biggest is artificial sweeteners, this is in everything! I would love to get raw milk and fresh organic produce!
When my daughter was born she was not doing well on formula. When she was about 3 months old I put her on raw milk, we had a small dairy. She never spit up and gained weight. We all used raw milk, cottege cheese, sour cream, ??? We were organic before organic came into existence.
I wonder if the private club was contacted about selling raw milk and ask to stop or was this just a “Hitler type raid”.
        GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY

Obama is hoping we try force to free our nation, for he has prepared for such with his own well trained and supplied force. Then he would also declare Marshall Law and easily take our nation by force using our own military and police (Hitler style). He has been well groomed/trained and supported to destroy this country and yet we still have allot of "citizens" in this country (also) that support him. Personally I have had Home Land Security invade my house and ranch because I referred to Obama as a SOB at a gun shop. They said amoung other things, that I threatened to kill him. They were also described by the Deputy's Sheriff who had to escort them in this county (several days later) as arrogant, rude and well beyond their authority in what they were doing.
Hope I haven't jeopardized myself here.

      • walls

Hope this comment doesn't get to the wrong hands as Home Land Security did go through my phone (already replaced) and no telling what on this computer.

  • matismf

When "Law Enforcement" spits on their oath to the Constitution, they are nothing more than Thugs with Guns. At least the Mafia Enforcers honored their oath.

  • Brandon

    Dave you are absolutely right!

  • Angel

Eating organic does not coincide with their plans to poison us! They want us dead…don't ya know? They would rather destroy all that good wholesome dairy and fruits because it won't poison us "slowly".

    • Douglas

      Does
Genetically Modified Organisms and Confined Animal Feeding Operations come to mind. Up to 90% of soybeans, corn, cotton, canola, wheat, alfalfa and sugar beets are now GMed without any labels or safety testing. These should have a label and posted in stores which sell these items.

  • samtman

Go Go ahead drink some unpasturized milk, may be you will get lucky and catch palegra.

    • e. nies

Samtman: Mush for brains makes you do stupid things and say stupid things!!

      • BTW

Do you by any chance mean pellagra? A disease caused by niacin dificiency? If you can't even spell it don't talk about it.

    • alex

i drank raw milk for the first twenty years of my life i'm now seventy- two and still healthy i guess it must have been all those germs from that raw milk

    • Douglas

Goat milk is not pasturized, or is it ?

    • D.Johnson

I drank unpasturized/ non-homoginized milk for 17 years (every day) and never got sick.

    • randy G

calves drink unpasturized milk all the time & HOW many die from milk— just the crap people put in it.

    • UncleRoy

Sam, you've been dropped on your head one too many times, thus: you're an idiot.

    • Nellie CA

I was raised on a small dairy and I now only drank raw milk and cottage cheese, butter milk, sour cream and all this was raw. All the junk in the food and pasturizing is killing us. The junk that is fed to the cows, pigs and ?? is not healthy.

If you want to eat meat that is packed by Muslims and illegal who bring in HIV,TB, AIDS and other health problems you just might get sick.
The illegals work in restaurants, bakery, food handling in grocery stores, packing plants. This scares me!

  • BrassHat

Go ahead, eat your raw vegetables, maybe you'll get ecoli. Go ahead eat your sushi, maybe you'll get worms. Its MY business what I eat, shmuck! Back off.

    • Douglas

Wash them with a little vinegar in the water and make a spray bottle with vinegar and water. Use it to spray on the meat items before you cook them. Vinegar, baking soda, silver will kill most of these.

  • ex yank

heil Obummer!!!!!!! zis iz dis neu 3rd riech at your door step.

  • Jack

I and my family, when they were young, drank unpasteurized milk for years: my in-laws were dairy farmers and we got it for a buck a gallon. My family, me, my ex-wife, my two sons and daughter very seldom went to the doctors for anything(who could afford it). I am now 71 and still going strong. Don't get me wrong, I think that there was and still is a need for it, back in the day when the dairies weren't what you might call CLEAN it was necessary. What amazes me is that, as with everything else, we are looking at only one side of things. What happened to freedom of choice ? I feel that the American people are not so stupid that we need the Fed's telling what we can and cannot do. If a biker doesn't want to wear a helmet, that's his/hers perogative, I just don't think that we should have to pay for it. The same goes for everything else. WAKE UP AMERICA, your constitutional rights are being taken away a little at a time so you don't realize it. It truly is time to stand up for the country, the constitution and our rights guaranteed us. Let's stop with the lip service and do something about it. I am not saying to do anything illegal, then we're no better than them. Do it right, not half cocked and do it and do it and do it until the battle is won, because it will be a battle. Friends will betray you, family members will betray you, and the majority of those who say they are with you will disappear. STAND UP FOR GOD, COUNTRY AND HONOR.

    • Jim Harrison

Good for you! I drank raw milk for a couple of years while at a small boarding school on a farm. But before we revolt, we must secure the services of lesser magistrates as Englishmen did when the Barons captured King John at Runnymede, and forced him to sign the Magna Charta, and as the Americans did when they fought against the tyrants under the leadership of duly constituted lesser officials. This is called the doctrine of interposition when they interpose between the people and the tyrant. Quite unlike the communist-style revolution that rallied the rabble of the French Revolution, the doctrine of interposition is biblical, and the only way that works in the long run

  • EHeassler

I'm so glad that our government has placed capturing these vicious wholesome food vendors above securing our southern border and not squandering taxpayer dollars by stopping the illegal flow of alien drug smugglers, Al-Qaeda agents, and Lord knows who else. I'll sleep better tonight. Not! This administration and the Communists running are turning our country and its laws upside down. Unbelievable!!

  • ccw

I should be able to buy what I want as long as it is properly labeled. Any food product found contaminated should be recalled just as turkey burger is now. If I want to buy raw meat or irradiated meat, it should be my decision. Sounds like lawsuit time again with the taxpayer being stuck with the penalty for law enforcement stupidity.

  • Douglas

We still drink milk right from the cow and goat and all are over 70 years of age and grandparents are in the 90s. What is the problem.

  • http://adrianvance.blogspot.com AdrianVance

Raw milk is dangerous, but has long been sold in California by specially licensed dairies. Not only is this raid a violation of the Fourth Amendment, "unreasonable search and seizure" provision, but it is a violation of the 10th Amendment as this is a matter left up to the states. They made the FDA for all the guys who missed the Gestapo.

    • Sue

Raw milk is NOT dangerous. Pasteurized milk is worthless at best. But BIG DAIRY has a lot of money and, since people will buy raw milk whenever they can find it, Big Dairy gets nervous. Get your facts straight.

      • http://adrianvance.blogspot.com AdrianVance

Madame: I do have my facts straight. I am a certificated science teacher and as such took the course, "Public Health" where we studied the history of milk and raw milk was particularly virulent vector for many diseases before Pasteurization. What you call "Big Dairy" is every public health department in the civilized world. Pardon me, but you are wrong.
My recent post Brought a Squirt Gun to the OK Corral

        • JSP

Sir I disagree with you proper handling is key but then again I'm not a brain washed science teacher.

        • Nellie CA

I drank raw milk for years and now I buy organic milk! There is something in the milk that don’t agree with me. Raw milk I don’t have a problems with. I would want to find out what the cows are fed and how the milk is processed. I wouldn’t want it handled by an illegal or Refugee.
I fed my kids raw milk until we moved to CA and it was taken off the shelf.
My kids were on raw milK at 3 months. They are all alive and healthy. I am probably more healthy than any of my friends who didn’t have this choice of raw milk and organic food when they were young.
          GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY

  • Charlie

I personally think drinking unpastuerized milk is Russian roulette. I also think those who wish to should have that right to do so.

Was the store duly licensed and inspected? If it was, there should've been no issue. If it wasn't, a fine and a few minutes to get paperwork done was all that was needed.

Was it legal to sell the stuff? If so, no crime committed, and at that, it should only be a civil infraction. If it wasn't legal, push to have the law changed, don't make a target of yourself.

Now, onto the main matter. The obvious behavior and reaction by the police was over-board, sloppy at best, illegal at worst. Health food stores are legitimate, honest businesses that for the most part that provide a vital service for their communities.

The behavior and execution by the police of this action that is of questionable legality (based on known information,) is unacceptable. The police and any other official that sanctioned this should be held personally responsible and the individual people, along with the agencies, should be ordered to share in treble damages for this. Harassment and bullying against anyone by the government needs to come to an end before more people are terrorized.

    • http://jc.does-it.net Gene W.

If the bottle said it was raw urine and someone wants to buy it, who has a right to stop it? I was raised on raw, unpasterized goats milk and our local hospital would ask for it when babies could not use other nurishment.

Get off the kick that the Government know more than the buyers.

      They can't balance a budget.

  • JDubya

Raw milk is not dangerous unless mishandled. The milk that is pasteurized has to be raw until it is treated. Drinking raw milk is up to the individual and is not restricted. However, selling it might be restricted. This report does not say why the establishment was so mistreated. Anyway, a warning seems more in order, rather than a raid – and even then a citation or some such. Sounds like abuse of power. Good grief!

  • http://pjtv.com skip gainer

Well the brown shirts are back and doing well. Where are the peoples rights to buy raw milk if they so choose to do so?

  • BTW

Old Louis Pastur developed the process to make milk safe right? Wrong, Louis was looking for a way to keep beer for going bad.

  • Redd Frogg

This is freaking INSANE! Using a SWAT team to raid a food store! What were they afraid of that they just couldn't send in the regular Police? Getting assulted by a cheese wheel? Stabbed by a salami? Oh I know what it was. It was the Bomb Pops!

I don't care what they say. YOU DO NOT SEND IN A SWAT TEAM TO BUST A GROCERY STORE!!!

I think I heard someone say, "Lock and Load!"

  • Rooster

How do you keep a comment to this APPROPRIATE AND CLEAN

  • http://www.DonCordellforPresident.com Don Cordell

Altadena Dairy in Los Angeles Co, CA sells unpastuerized milk all the time. I wonder why they picked on this dealer? Maybe they forgot to support their local politician. Money talks, and our politicians need a lot of money to get elected to get a lot of money. It's all about money. Same think happened to some Amish farmers in Pennsylvania recently, and even more criminal charges, as Horror, they actually shipped some to Maryland. Time for hard punishment, we just can't allow Free Interprize in America.

  • Gaylan

Fact is people don't know what their TRUE rights are. "Gee officer.. I conditionally accept your offer of "conspiracy, and fraud or what ever charge they are, upon proof of claim that selling lawful items can be converted into a crime.." Or "that your corporate "color of law" can superseded the constitutional law of this land.."

  • Preston

Don't blame the cops/law enforcement officers that conducted the raid. They were doing what they were told to do. Blame the individuals that are pulling the strings. Someone gathered the information. Someone approved the warrant. Someone gave the order. This was done at the behest of someone. Who had something to gain from this raid? That is who needs to be blamed. The officers were just a tool used to affect someone's plan. Find that someone, and prosecute him/her.

    • McKannick

Well, Pres that's an empty argument as cops are 'sworn to uphold the Consitution'. What part of this BS was consitutional? 'Following orders' leads to Ruby Ridge and Waco massacres, Mi Ly Vietnam and so forth. Just like the US military, they have the DUTY to refuse unlawful orders from their superiors. Way too many cops today LIKE doing this kind of stuff.

  • McKannick

Anyone remember a slight over reaction by the storm troopers in Waco, Texas?

  • Karen Griffee

I do not believe God intended us to eat all this over-processed and GMO foods. We have freedom of religion? Well SOME do. Apparently My beliefs don't matter, as I am only a conservative Christian.
