Pollster: Americans Are “Pre-Revolutionary”

Amidst riots in central Europe that have now spread to London and a debt downgrade that threatens to plunge the United States into a double-dip recession, Americans’ lack of confidence in their leadership is so crippled that they are now “pre-revolutionary,” according to pollster Pat Caddell.

A new Rasmussen poll shows that just 17 per cent of Americans believe that the U.S. government has the consent of the governed, an all time low. This dovetails with a record low for Congress’ approval rating, which stands at a paltry 6 per cent, while 46 per cent of Americans think most members of Congress are corrupt, with just 29% believing otherwise.

“The number of voters who feel the government has the consent of the governed – a foundational principle, contained in the Declaration of Independence – is down from 23% in early May and has fallen to its lowest level measured yet,” according to Rasmussen.

The poll was conducted before Friday’s U.S. debt downgrade, indicating that the figures could be even more dire in the aftermath of what some analysts believe is a precursor to a new great depression.

    The only wonder is that we have not had more people in the streets and breaking store windows, but we really must avoid that at all costs as it would allow Mr. Obama to declare martial law, cancel the election and himself "President for the duration."

      On the other hand, maybe this would be the one thing to spark a real revolution.

      No way do I condone the destruction of private property. We are in this together, store owners and all. Obama and his minion have done all they can to pit Americans against each other by using the race card and putting labels on anyone who isn't part of his minion.

      Let's never loose site of who the enemy really is.

    We are seeing the nation that many of us served, being destroyed before our eyes. I pray sincerely that we can survive until the 2012 election, and that there will be a course change, but when you see the political posturing that is increasingly uncertain. The danger becomes even more apparent when you hear the daily comments from the Totalitarian Elitists, verifying that they intend to continue their reckless and noxious agenda.

    I believe that America is as close to mass insurrection/revolution as it has been since before the civil war and the politicians (most of them being communist democrats) and the current so-called president are totally responsible!

    it is time to leave the union . all southern get ready to flight , the north has no morales and are moving to the south to finish destroying our states. i noticed they are a lot in my area and we do not want them here. when asked why they came here, they say because of no jobs. i know they are no jobs because of all there unions , who can afford them. they are stupid people, ,price them self out of work and i guess they wonder why. the north way of thinking will destroy anything it touches and they can take there sorry ass back to their states, lie in the bed they made

    We need to try and then hang or shoot these politicians. Everyone has to die sometime… these people need to sooner rather than later before we've been ruined for generations. Voting them out does no good they're like cockroaches you just have to kill them or they change parties and keep coming back. We need a revolution. Start with Obama

    I am NOT in the group of 46 per cent of Americans think most members of Congress are corrupt, I think that 80 percent of the members of Congress are corrupt. Of course, I don't know the exact numbers. But we can start with EVERY member of Congress that voted for the debt bill that Obama signed into law on August 2 to supposedly avoid government default. Every member that supported Obama on this bill needs to be turned out of office at the earliest possible moment.
