Obama’s DOJ Advises Gibson Guitar to Outsource its Labor

The Gibson Guitar saga has taken a sinister turn.

It seems that the Department of Justice wasn’t satisfied with merely raiding the law abiding factories of Gibson Guitar with armed agents, shutting down their operation costing them millions, and leaving the American company in the dark as to how to proceed without going out of business.

Now, according to CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, agents of the United States government are bluntly informing them that they’d be better off shipping their manufacturing labor overseas.

In an interview with KMJ AM’s “The Chris Daniel Show,” Juszkiewicz revealed some startling information.

CHRIS DANIEL:  Mr. Juszkiewicz, did an agent of the US government suggest to you that your problems would go away if you used Madagascar labor instead of American labor?

HENRY JUSZKIEWICZ:  They actually wrote that in a pleading.

    Part 3

Weren't they intelligent enough to see the implications of how it would affect the american guitar business ? I was. When I posted this info on my website and made it public through the guitar forums of Martin and Gibson … everyone said I was a tree hugger and I was crying the sky was falling. I tried to warn them that they needed to start addressing it at that time. However, they chose to continue on with business as usual. Even one of the people responsible for sourcing wood for Martin pretty much told me I didn't know what I was talking about. Well, guess they were wrong. Who knows .. they may be next.

    Part 4

I watched the video with HENRY JUSKIEWICZ regarding his response to the charges and siituation. He comes off as very evasive to some specific questions and quite honestly comes off as an ill informed CEO for someone who should know the laws of the origin of his wood. He really should have an attorney answering his questions or at least have one with him to stop him from sticking his foot in his mouth. As complicated as the international wood business is becoming, especially where exotic hardwoods from depleting rain forests are concerned, Gibson should have been better informed and had good legal advice from someone who understands the current international laws on importation of endangered woods. I don't even want to get started on the situation with the Madagascar Rosewood. I'm sure Gibson knows what I'm talking about.

    Part 5

And just how is Obama responsible for a comment made by someone in the DOJ ? HENRY JUSKIEWICZ says in the video interveiw that he didn't know how many guitars they seized from his company in the first raid. LOL If you believe that, I have a bridge in Manhattan I'd like to sell you. Yet you expect Obama to know everything someone in the DOJ says to a defendant during an investigation ? If you really look at the situation and understand the laws, whoever made the statement was giving good sound advise if Gibson wants to continue using Indian Rosewood and not continue to get raided. That's not trying to send our jobs elsewhere or outsourcing by any means. It's been known for many years that most Indian Rosewood was not legal for exportation from India unless it was in the form of a product.

    Part 6

I was made aware years ago that many companies were skirting the laws by breaking a radius on the corners of planks and claiming it as a finished product of some type. So, if India's laws don't permit the exportation of Indian Rosewood unless it's in the form of a product, what choice does Gibson have if they want to continue using it ? Did Gibson know the laws ? Only they can answer that. Should they have known the laws ? Darn tootin. When their livelyhood depends on it .. they should have been ALL OVER IT.

I've often wondered how Taylor gets away with putting all that info about his little Rosewood operation in India. If I were Bob, I'd probably be pulling all that off real quick, fast and in a hurry.

So, before you guys go spewing all this nonsense about Obama and the DOJ trying to get someone to outsource or move overseas…know your facts. As for Fender .. probably had everything to do with profit margin and cheaper labor and nothing to do with wood. They use mostly maple, alder, swamp ash and domestic woods for their guitars. They stopped using BRW fingerboards years ago.

    Peace, I'm out.

AS for exxon, let those greedy bastars go to Russia .. LOL. We all know they can't be trusted. They'll let exxon do all the exploration, development of the refineries … etc, etc, etc, and then kick em out when it's up and running. Then who do you think Exxon will pass that loss to when they come crawling back to the U.S. ?

I personally hope they go. Let em pollute somewhere else for a few decades.

I recently bought a bike off of Craigslist for $30, spent $4 on new brake pads and have cut my fuel consumption by 50%. My car stays parked as much as feasibly possible. I'm kind of enjoying getting back to the basics. I think if all REAL americans would do more to stop consumption .. we'd all be better off.

According to a certain American oral tradition (documentation supporting this is probably lost in antiquity), Atwater Kent, manufacturer-entrepreneur responsible for creation of the classic early radio sets bearing his name, was told by his workers that they had voted in a union. As the story goes, Mr. Kent SHUT THE PLACE DOWN FOR GOOD. While I'd hate to see Gibson go that way, it certainly would be a stinging slap in the face of OH-VOMIT. Just to make sure OH-VOMIT or his buddies don't try to buy out the place for pennies on the dollar, they ought to TORCH EVERYTHING. Give OH-VOMIT a STOCKING of CHARCOAL FOR RAMADAN.
