Patriot Act Used for Drugs, not Terrorism

The 5-Minute Forecast provided the following, disturbing observation last week…

The Patriot Act authorized ‘sneak and peek’ search warrants — where you, the suspect, don’t have to be notified of the search until after the fact. If you’re a patriot and thought those powers would be used to fight terrorism, well you would be wrong.

Meanwhile, the National Security Agency (NSA) has opened a massive $2 billion, 1 million-square-foot complex in the Utah desert…devoted to storing and sorting through emails, web searches and business transactions. Perhaps yours.

A similar complex is being built near San Antonio. By 2015, according to journalist James Bamford, the NSA will store data equivalent to 1 septillion printed pages. That’s a 1 followed by 24 zeroes.

“Somewhere between Sept. 11 and today,” wrote Bamford last week, “the enemy morphed from a handful of terrorists to the American population at large, leaving us nowhere to run and no place to hide…”

At the NSA, thousands of analysts who once eavesdropped on troop movements of enemy soldiers in distant countries were now listening in on the bedroom conversations of innocent Americans in nearby states…

A surveillance system capable of monitoring 10 million people simultaneously this year will be able to monitor 100 million the next year — at probably half the cost. And every time new communications technology appears on the market, rest assured that someone at the NSA has already found a way to monitor it. It’s what the NSA does.

        Thanks for the reply. I think that it's much worse than just snatching away our second amendment rights. I firmly believe that we will never see the 2012 elections. This administration will either use an existing crisis or create one. Then they will declare martial law and cancel the elections. Obama and many other government officals have committed multiple acts of treason. They are all in too deep, to ever allow an honest election, or an honorable person to rise to a position of power in this country. The end game has begun. And it's all or nothing!
        I remember hearing all of the rumors about concentration camps being built in various places through out the globe. It's starting to become very believable now. Get your knapsack ready; we might be going to camp!

          I agree Denisea! I've been saying for months now that we will not see the 2012 elections.. My question is who is going to be the brave few with the pull and the power to step in and intervene on behalf of "We the People"?? Are the good Governors in this Country going to watch their lives and their States go down the drain? I am calling on all Governors to step up and take a stand for the people! It's what you were voted in to do!

    I don't think that too many people are shocked by this sort of behavior from our corrupt government. Obama has launched a new web site; called Obama Watch.com. You can now report any smears that your friends and neighbors make against him. It's kind of a Twitter KGB. I believe that he had another web site or homeland security did; that you could report anything you thought 'smelled a little fishy' directly to that site. Obama is so self absorbed that it's sick! Correction: the web site is called Attck Watch. Sorry about that.

    Excellent speech by Swiss member of Parliament Oskar Freysinger said with passion and truth that no politician in Washington is yet ready to speak from the floor of Congress. In order for us to beat back the Islamists we need some key leaders in Washington to make a similar speech and lead the nation against the Islamist threat head on.

    This just go to show that Oboner is getting desparate and will do anything he can to win re-election in 2012. We cannot and must not let this fool use these kind of tactics on us. He is trying to force us into a corner where we have no choice but to accept him as our leader and he will do anything to start trouble in this country so he can declare martial law and run us into the ground.
    Did you also know that the National Labor Relations Board is trying to force Boeing into not building a facility in South Carolina to build plane parts because it is a right to work state and the Unions will be unable to force the employees to join their union. They have taken this to court and are trying their hardest to stop Boeing from letting non union workers work. This is another of HOHO Oboner and his union cronies trying to force people into a corner where they have not choice but do what this fool is trying to force down their throats. Please don't let this happen or we are in serious trouble of losing all respect we have.

    It makes you wonder will our next President really look into all BHO has done and prosecute everyone involved with taking our freedoms away, fake birth certificate, lies, cover ups like Fast and Furious, giving money to Kenya and Africa with no Congressional approval, let unions have their way with everything including wavier from Obamacare, allowing NLRP to stop Boeing from building plant in NC, giving CAIR assets to police and FBI files, allowing unions to rule the job market with limitations, etc.

    Ron Paul voted against the Patriot Act each time. He correctly saw where this would go and how the government would use it … to spy on as many Americans as they can. And, I would like to add that I was horrified that Michele Bachmann voted for the Patriot Act TWICE. To me, this says a great deal about her statements that she will protect and defend our Constitution and our individual liberty.

    And, yes Obama is moving along the process very quickly but please do not disregard the fact, as this article correctly points out, the "delayed-notice search warrants expansion of powers 2006 – 2009" … two years of this under Republican Bush Jr.

    This is serious business and I thank this website for posting this very important article. Welcome to the new United Policed States of America. Next up, the REAL ID Act creating a national ID card for each and every American citizen, all in the name of our "safety and security."
