Olive Garden Restaurant Bans Display of American Flag

Officials with the parent company of Olive Garden restaurants say they’re sorry if a decision regarding an Alabama Kiwanis club’s desire to display the American flag caused any concern.

The comments come after 80-year-old Marti Warren of Anniston said she wasn’t allowed to bring an American flag into an Olive Garden for a planned Kiwanis Club banquet in the east Alabama town of Oxford.

Warren learned the night of the banquet that she wouldn’t be allowed to display the flag or the Kiwanis banner in the restaurant, she said.
“I was so angry,” she told WBRC-TV. “I felt like I had been slapped in the face.”

Orlando-based parent firm Darden restaurants said in a statement that “like all Americans we have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for the American flag and everything it symbolizes.”

    Olive Garden is my sister's famorite restaurant. I always take her there when I visit her. NO MORE OLIVE GARDEN FOR US! She'll have to pick another favorite of hers. Shame on Olive Garden for not tolerating the AMERICAN FLAG WHICH SHOULD ENHANCE THE ENVIRONMENT OF AN AMERICAN RESTAURANT AT ANY TIME….

    This is a non-issue. I believe people are getting worked up over nothing. If you read the entire article it states that they (olive garden) had no private room or banquet area and were unable to accommodate for the flag and the banner. What this tells me was that there was a space limitation. Perhaps the restaurant was full and they were unable to move any tables aside. I highly doubt that Olive Garden as a company and ALL of its employees are Leftist Liberals who hate America. Lets do some critical thinking before jumping to conclusions.

    P.S. I do believe people and businesses have the right to display the American Flag and should exercise that right. But don't forget that the flag doesn't give you any rights, it symbolizes them.

    I eagerly await the "move to another country"all of the people who do not like America–there are way too many people here now thanks to the "welcome all" lady in the habor. Frankly I think her hands should be pushing away people who just keep coming to America and bringing all their foreign ways, and ideas with them.

    OLIVE GARDEN, just want to tell you goodbye. You will not be getting my money, or support. I have hundreds of friends that will br receiving this. And then it will be all over the USA. Down with olive garden.
