  • George Reagan

Hey, Dumb ass, get a job like everybody else and pay your own way. I went to two years plus of collage by working in the dorm greasy spoon and a apart time janitors job. Later on, after the military, I had federal assistance. Got a BS in Engineering and a great job. Will retire in a couple of years with a great 401k. If an ole hick boy from the farm can do it, anyone can.

And this is the product of the public school system . Is it any wonder that we as a Nation are in the toilet ? Just where the Progressives have wanted to put us .
This Kid wants to go to College ? He should go back to 6th grade .

What a waste of a body – no brain. I think he must have obtained his Obamacare waiver because he lacks the prequisite mental activity to qualify for Obamacare, and not because of his support for Obamacare.

I agree with the majority of the comments but to add one more is to tell this free loader that if he really can't afford to go to a state university where the cost are being paid mostly by the so-called "greedy millionaires," he can always join the military. All of the branches of the military emphasize and promote its members to attend college classes with some of the best universities such as University Of Maryland, Tufts and others. I earned my BS with UM in which the professors were some of the best to be found and the classes were less than twelve students for the 300 and 400 level classes. I know of no university providing a masters program that has such a ratio; at the University of Washington where I earned my masters in International Relations, the ratio for most classes was much higher. I also paid for the masters degree with the GI Bill.

Additionally, anything earned is much more appreciated.

  • RogerCannon

I was able to get my college education paid for………..it was a benefit I earned under the GI Bill for serving my time honorably in the U.S. Army.
I guess he just never thought about that strategy.

An unreasonable situation will earn ridiculous responses. 15 years ago Harvard College cost $4000 per year. Now it is $40,000 and rising! There is no justification. If you graduate from an Ivy League school you will be asked to contribute to the alumni fund several times a year by someone on the phone to say nothing of the mailings, all in color, heavy paper, etc.

When I started school 4 years ago my Bachelors degree was to be about $36,000 for everything now it is around the $62,000. I do get student loans (not going to lie) but I have already paid one back in full and in January I will start paying these back. I have now started classes to get my PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology….the final cost for that (four years ago) was $75,000 now I am looking at having to repay $160,000!!!! I have medical conditions that make it impossible to work outside the home, but my husband works hard to bring it what we do live on. We DO NOT get medical, or food stamps, or aid with our electric and we paid all of our debts because that is what responsible people do. Unlike the unwashed masses of the Occupy movement.
I guess my point is, that if I can go to school and PAYBACK everything on less than $40,000 a year then so can everyone else.
      Blessing Mr Vance.

I don't want to make you sick, but when I got my degree at ISU the tuition and books were a few hundred bucks for a Phy.. Sci. major and Bio. minor per semester and we had the most expensive books to buy! I worked and got out owing nothing. I think my dad had given me $400 through the whole four years. The colleges are ripping off the students bigtime.

I remember the first time I took college classes I paid $75 per course and that included the texts! Then when I got my X-ray Technician certificate I paid $9,000 for two years. It is outrageous what the "sane" people are forced to pay for anything anymore.
Even our K-12 system here has asked for a budget override because we cannot get any money from federal or state, the school population has dropped thanks to the illegals leaving and with it when the federal funding. The good thing about that is everyone in school now speaks only English. :)

Some enterprising small school is going to develop an online system that works, reduce costs and clean up. Most of what you learn in college, even in the sciences, is on your own as the lecturers are either trying to show everyone how smart they are or talk about their "research," which is a polite name for plagiarism. I was the son of two college professors and grew up in that game. I know where the bodies are buried.

Why does this liberal idiot want to get a college education? Oh, I know, so he can get a great job and make a lot of money and be just like the people he's protesting.

  • Joe

This is exactly what Obama wants! A bunch of braindead liberals to keep him in office. What a shame!

This is our fault fellow conservatives. We surrendered our youth to Caesar – this young man is the result of Government controlled education.

They're all like that. Interviewer couldn't find an "INFORMED" person because none of them are. If they were, they'd be out looking for jobs, or creating their own. That's what makes America move on, not Soros, not Obama, not government! It's the individual Americans doing what they do best efficiently, creatively, with courage and determination and character. NOT THE WHINING, SNIVELING, COMPLAINING, LAZY A#$ LIKE THIS GUY!!!

I'd like to know who is daddy is so I can kick his @$$ for not teaching the boy anything about reality or responsibility.

  • Len

Boy has the Democratic party changed. Years ago it was "ask not what your country can do for you" now it has become a party of "ask what your country can do for you." More food stamps please, pay for my education, etc. and to think Obama embraces's these folks.
