The Real ‘One Percent’ Is America’s Political Class

There is a real class war going on in this country, and the Occupy Movement doesn’t seem to realize that they are on the wrong side of it. No, it’s not the wealth-hating, broad brush 99% vs. 1% class war that the Occupiers chant about. That so-called “war” is a merely a distraction from the real class split in America. Nope, the real deal pits American citizens on one side and on the other, safely ensconced inside the Beltway, are the Political Class.

The Political Class live in a world of wealth and power, and they don’t play by the same rules that you and I do. The Political Class operates above the law – literally, above it and lording over it. Since they make the laws, they can rewrite them to suit themselves. They pull the strings on the mainstream press establishment by playing games with information and power. As a result, the Political Class has been able to line its own pockets while much of the economy has gone to shambles.

If this all sounds a bit dramatic and dystopian, you haven’t read Throw Them All Out by Breitbart editor Peter Schweizer or seen the recent 60 Minutes segment that was based on the book’s research but independently verified and reported by CBS and Steve Kroft.

It is time we Americans clean house and the senate, life long politicians who not only take our tax dollars for their pay check but give themselve plush retirement and exquisite health care for life at our expense need to have the purse strings cut. It is time to end the aristocracy of our government and re-establish the Constitution base government of the people, by the people for the people. They preach about taxing the wealthy, yet exclude themselves from our laws. It's time for all three branches to be pruned!

    I have this morning written to both my senator and my Congressman concerning the right of members of Congress, their staff, the brokers handling the accounts to freely practice "Insider Trading" with impunity.
    They all need to be told that it is hight time that all laws, past, present and future apply to them. In fact the penalty for not obeying the very laws they write should be Double that of the private citizen.
    A full investigation of this is required to make it very clear the ones to throw out in 2012…

    our federal/state/local officials had figured out, many years ago, that they are above any law. the slime that is is and has run dc are alll multi millionaires. they (dems) will hide behind their retoric of saying the republicans, bankers, oil company heads are the 1% (ows term) who are ruining our country, when it has been the dems and rinos that have brought our country to the brink of a dictatorship. we have an entire administration that is anti-individualism, anti-capitalism and anti-anything great in America. vote, if we still have an election in 2012, them out of office, and pray, that whoever takes their place has not lied to us to get elected.

      deathtononbelievers; You are 100% correct. This goes all the way down from the POTUS, Congress, Senate, State, City, and county offices. If you don't think it does just look at the city in California where the Mayor and Council Members had hugh salaries and pension benefits, I think it was Bell California, and folks I assure you this is just the tip of the iceburg, It's like a cancer upon our nation and we must I repeat we must remove this cancer in November 2012 or we will all be dead or terminally ill before the next election cycle in 2016.
      There need to be an independant public investigation made up of citizens from all walks of life in this country, to find out the truth about all these carrier politicans who have broken the laws that we all have to live by while they have been in office, weather they were exempt from those laws or not. If they broke the law then they should be expelled from office and tried, and if convicted sentanced to prison for the same number of years that they served in office. (Guess we will see almost all the Demecraps & repubs in 25 to 35 years if they are lucky.)

        For Gods sake folks wake up smell the coffee and vote in November 2012 and get rid of the SCUMBAGS that have been running this country for so long starting with the POTUS OBUMMER right on down the your local Mayor and City Council.
        This is the only way the 99% will ever be able to control the 1% to use a phrase from OWS.
        You may be to old like me to see much change in the near future but atleast think about your kids, and grandkids and what they will be experiencing in 20 or 30 years from now.

    No body hates the 1% percenters, they have increased their wealth by some 275% in the last 30 years, the 99% wealth and income has only gone up by 40%. There is someting wrong here. Capitalism is working for the 1% only at the expense of the 99ners who do most of the drudge work. The 1% could not exist wilhtout the 99ners, yet they are getting 43% of the wealth.There is a disconect here. Before Reagan the 1% owned 17% of the wealth and the 99ners were better off, there was much less of a disparety. This kind of a disperaty existed in Europe under 18th Century Monarchies before democracy took hold in Europe. We are turning into a aristocracy. Thins much change, otherwise there will be real Tea Partky in this countries future.

    We hear a lot today from the Occupy Wall Street Crowd about the greedy 1% who “steal” from the 99%.

    For clarity, I’d like to mention the REAL 1% in this country. The active duty military who make up 1% of the citizens of the United States (actually 0.7%) who put their lives on the line protecting the other 99%’s freedoms and their right to protest.

    The Few, the Brave, the Honorable 1% protecting the often ungrateful 99%….

    Now that’s true injustice !

    Every law that Congress passes should be made manatory for all elected officials, from healthcare to insider trading, We got rid of Georgelll for his taxation without representation…….all we have done over the intervening years is gradually create under the cover of darkness a new rulling class of equally corupt Georgelll's…………..Support the Tea Party, elect only constitutional conservative representatives. (This will also mean dumping the RINO's not just corrupt Democrats)

    I do believe that most people know this is happening and has been for more than the last fifty years and getting worse as each year passes. Jest look at all of the Politician's that have been caught and they were forced to make public and that is only the 1% or less that we know about. This Government that belongs to the people has become so corrupt it makes what happened in italy with the Mafia look like a tea party and it is going to jest escalate as time goes by but with this SOB Barrack Obama as the head of the organized crime it will get very Bloody the same way any Dictator does when he or she does not like what the people are doing or what they say. So if all of the Stupid supporters of the SOB Barrack Obama want to see that happen soon then continue supporting him but the only thing it will get you is an early death.

    I think it would be better to say that the Marxist element of both Congress and now the White House is comprised of 1% along with their rich supporters. Many RINO's are also there but there is hope in the future with the voting out of Obama/Soetoro and his thuggish administration along with the Senate's Marxist's that we will regain some control of what is going on. Of course the Supreme Court dening Obamacare will go a long ways

Lower pay, no benefits and no retirement, period. Impeachment even for Supreme Court Justices, recall and petition along with the ballot box must become more common. Our lack of participation and our Congress's lack of participation, have opened the door to a rogue government that is working overtime to control Us and make Us owe our soul to the company store. We The People must become the First Branch of our Government.
