Perry blasts Obama for not hosting parade for returning US troops

GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry criticized President Obama on Wednesday for not arranging a parade to welcome U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq.

The Texas governor, who has struggled since entering the GOP primary, accused Obama of not properly thanking the military.

“It really disturbs me that nearly after nine years of war in Iraq that this president wouldn’t welcome home our many heroes with a simple parade in their honor,” Perry said at a campaign stop in Iowa.

“Maybe it’s because this war is unpopular with the Democrats. I don’t know. But Mr. President, our soldiers come first. And it comes before party politics. We need to welcome our soldiers home. Give them that parade. Give them that pat on the back. Tell them thank you for the freedom that we have.”

    This so-called president did not give out a Christmas message to the American People and so why would we think he would have a parade to honor our men and women in Uniform for their service and sacrifice to our Great Country? I don't think that he is as concerned about offending his liberal left party as much as he don't want to offend his brother and sister muslims over there.

      Ellen, he (obumitus) makes me want to puke. I just watched the Kennedy Center Special I recorded a few nights ago, it was honoring Meryl Strep , Neil Diamond , ect…. . And guess what !!??? There was our nations careless leader and his bimbo sitting with those being honored. And he did not welcome back our brave men and women that lived in sand, dirt, mud, ate rations and at anytime could have had their heads blown off. And of course the nation as a whole was not worth obumilus even saying '" ha, ha, i didn't give you any presents, but your tax $$ has sure been good for me and my a_ _ holes." I would tell him and it to suck an egg but they are not worthy of any egg. I am a Veteran from the end of the Vietnam war. And this nation of ours needs a deep cleaning. I would be proud to stand next to our military and get it done.

    A ticker tape pararde is not the Presidents Job, it is volunteered by the a city, like the parades after WW ll. The President held a formal ceremony of the US and the last Army unit flag and made a final speech ending the war in Iraq, praising the armed forces for a dificult job done well and thanking the armed forces and their fmilies for their sacrifices blood they gave for their country. This President has done more for returning vets than other Presidents by trying to find Jobs for them, medical and psycological help for those who needet it and housing in the privat sector housing for families now living on post. That makes a lot more sense than ticker tape parades.

      Obama, who hates the military, came out and said, "The military should buy their own health insurance" he wanted us to buy our own coverage and pay our medical bills that are incurred when we go into battle and are wounded. He did not want not the government to pay up for sending our troops in to battle.

    I have mixed feelings about having a parade,don't get me wrong,I have nothing but salutes to each everyone of them,but 1- the job is not done,and most of these troops will be sent help in Afganastan.2-when we came back from Vietnam there was no parade,same with Korea.The parades they gave after WW I and WW II was because we won those battles.We didn't win in Iraq,we left before the job was complete.Now if they want to give them a big salute with armed forces celabration in a football stadium ,I go along with that.

        Sorry but yes I did serve 5 yrs. in the Navy Seabees 1971-1976,and a thank you parade is different then a victory parade,there was no victory,just like Nam.But,I think a big celabration in a big football stadium would work better.

    Being a ex-military man, Perry realizes the importance of giving homage to the troops who perform their duties in an outstanding and courageous manner. Mr. Obama has shown his lack of knowledge of the traditions and customs of the U.S. military by ignoring these brave returning soldiers. But this can only be expected, he is a foreigner and never did serve in the military.

    Well, Henry Kissinger already spilled the beans about how their political class think of our servicemen. He said they were just dumb, stupid animals to be used for foreign policy ends.

    Besides, you can’t blame Obama/Sotero/etc./etc. for cold shouldering the troops. After all, the vast number of them have invested in Ron Paul’s candidacy. Of course, the lame stream media and the corrupted GOP leadership are conspiring to ensure that their investment goes to waste.

    So we can truly see who supports our men and women in uniform. Ron Paul served with honor as a flight surgeon. Remind me again, was it Gingrinch or Romnery who also served? Oops, my mistake, they’re the chicken hawks. True, Perry served, but I think that ship done sailed. Besides, he attended bilderburgers, so has been bought and paid for.

      Years ago when a massive toll road was built around Dallas, Texas paid for it, right? Welp! When the revenue started pouring in — the gave the proceeds to Spain. I have no clue why.

      Perry is in bed with the Muslims. He wants Islam taught in the schools. He also wants the Illegals to get "discounts" on college tuition. As it is now? Senior Citizens who were receiving $120 per month in food stamps now receive $55 due to the poor little illegals having to feed their families.
