Obama says US needs a new government

President Barack Obama’s request for authority to streamline U.S. executive agencies was greeted with skepticism from congressional Republicans while Democrats questioned elements of his reorganization plan.

The president said yesterday he wants to be able to undertake any consolidation that would save money and shrink government, subject to a “fast-track” vote of approval or disapproval by Congress in 90 days.

He said his first action would be replacing the Commerce Department with a yet unnamed agency that folds in the U.S. Trade Representative, the Export-Import Bank, the Overseas Private Investment Corp., the Trade and Development Agency and the Small Business Administration.

“The government we have is not the government that we need,” Obama said yesterday at the White House. “Our economy has fundamentally changed — as has the world — but our government, our agencies, have not.”

    I must agree: the US EVIDENTLY needs a new government, as it has demonstrated by installing him as president. If treason still had meaning, at least half of congress would be hung in public, and their heads displayed on fenceposts for all to see.

    Some have said, includung V.P. Joe Biden, that B.O. that occupies the White House is too intellegint for the U.S. and its Constitution. However, it takes common sense to use intellegint effectively which B.O. lacks doing. His rejection of the Keystone oil project is the latest display of the most outrageous nonsensical act that could will increase the cost of fuel. No doubt that our government needs to be improved BUT not by the contamination of B.O.!! What more proof does it take to demonstrate the lack of good old common sense?

    Everyone here seems to be Republican, conservative, it is not balanced so you don't see much response as to what Democrats, liberals have to say. It is like tooting your own horn. Problem is, Obama clearly has the edge, has the media, has the mass of voters, especially the Latino vote which in a major part, supports any democrat, with all the liberal organizations, with Black Panthers, Acorn spin offs, etc. and his current established position, like it or not, he is most likely to be re elected. Especially with Republicans cutting each others throats and have the media and Democrats applauding and agreeing with every anti, negative statement, add made by each. Does not matter what group or who the democrats are, they all stick together, they vote, sort and achieve what they are after, even a piece at a time. The republicans chatter, shake and debate, in the end, they do not stand together, do not stand for principles or people of this country. Republicans are broken, if not shattered, and are loosing opportunities to win by their own actions..
