Obamacare to Require Health Plans to Cover Birth Control Without Co-Pays

Most healthcare plans will be required to cover birth control without charging co-pays or deductibles starting Aug. 1, the Obama administration announced Friday.

The final regulation retains the approach federal health officials proposed last summer, despite the deluge of complaints from religious groups and congressional Republicans that has poured in since then. Churches, synagogues and other houses of worship are exempt from the requirement, but religious-affiliated hospitals and universities only get a one-year delay and must comply by Aug. 1, 2013.

“This decision was made after very careful consideration, including the important concerns some have raised about religious liberty,” Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a statement. “I believe this proposal strikes the appropriate balance between respecting religious freedom and increasing access to important preventive services.”

    Nothing like impossing laws on religions, against thier beliefs. I thought government and religion are to be separate and one cannot impose on another.

    I think that is so wrong! Why aren’t people being taught abstinence? Wait I have a better idea — let womens birth control products be over-the-counter like feminine hygiene products & condoms.

    I can’t afford the co-pays for my I-need-to-live medicine, why am I paying for someone else’s birth control?

    The USSR also got rid of churches and religion in its satellite states and anyone wishing to continue in their beliefs were persecuted or had to go underground. Pope John Paul 11 was one of them. And we thought communism had been defeated? But it is here in our own Congress among the appalling demoncraps who SAY they are Christians?????
    Forcing hospitals to close if they are Catholic as they do not wish to do abortions. Teaching sex at 5years old? Teaching homosexual ways to schoolchildren? Undermining all religions? A sure way of indoctrination to communism.
    It is truly sickening and I pray to GOD something will happen to stop this advance.

    At all cost, we have to stand up to these mutts /I know that the Lord is c/mating (sealing there Judgment) these freaks but if one might be scared now, just wait, while u do nothing, thats right, it will come faster to all if these freaks are not challenged in every way possible, take the gloves off, remember, a disarmed people can easily be taken out (I'm not just speaking ballistics here folk's) what the enemy fears most is answered prayers, got to get it done. He doing everything he can to make things cost much more. He sure does not represent my best intreast.     This is yet another example of two things…1, Obama administration disdain for religious freedom and the defense of freedom, and 2, a complete lack of understanding of how this will affect the insurance market. This will encourage an even greater number of employers to drop healthcare for their employees and send them to the exchanges. So, more people flee to government for subsidies while more employer dollars flee the healthcare system. We cannot continue these perverse incentives that drive employers out of the market!
    The most offensive thing is the clear agenda to tear down religious participation in our safety net, by trampling on the Constitution yet again. There is no constitutional right to access to contraceptives! Do these people have a shred of intellectual honesty!

    What right do the Feds have in telling insurance co what they have to cover? Something like birth control is so private, and, with the Feds insisting that all people get birth control for free, premiums will have to go up. Welcome to the beginnings of Obamacare.

    And there goes another raise in the cost of healthcare, that Seibelus will try to force the insurance companies to accept as a cost only to them, as she does every mandate by Obama, until they can no longer afford to survive as a profitable business and turns the entire healthcare industry over to the government, which was predicted by those who opposed this insanely unaffordable legislation, that will also bankrupt the US government, unless they are allowed to keep printing money from thin air, for which a time will come when even that won't work any longer, and we are much closer to that time than the American people realize, or the Democrats and liberal biased mainstream media will allow them to know.
