A daring raid and hostages on their way home

Held captive since last fall, an ailing American woman and a Danish man are safely on their way home after a bold, dark-of-night rescue by U.S. Navy SEALs. The commandos slipped into a Somali encampment, shot and killed nine captors and whisked the hostages to freedom.

The raid’s success was welcome news for the hostages and their families, for the military and for President Barack Obama, who was delivering his State of the Union speech as the mission was wrapping up Tuesday night. He did not mention it in his address but dropped a hint upon arriving in the House chamber by telling Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, “Good job tonight.”

It was the second splashy SEAL Team 6 success in less than a year, following last May’s killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.

The SEALs apparently encountered some degree of resistance from the kidnappers at the encampment. One U.S. official said Wednesday that there was a firefight but the length and extent of the battle were unclear.

    Great job by the Navy Seals, so why is Obama taking the credit? Obama, in his SOTU speech, also took credit for ending the war in Iraq, but in actuality Bush won the war with the 'Troop Surge', that US Senator Obama was dead set against and claimed it would never work, and it was Bush that signed the agreement of the end of the war and when the US troops would depart, for which Obama tried to renogiate and keep our troops there longer, but Iraq officials refused to agree to, yet Obama is now taking all the credit for. Yet Obama refuses to take credit for the poor economy, which he lies about it's condition, and refuses to take credit for the unemployment which Obama's people highly unreport. Some President, he makes me sick, I respect the position but not the man that holds it, and will never show respect for the position while that man holds it.

    Good Job SEALS! To bad this was an election ploy by Hussain to garner votes! To bad our brave military are now being used by Hussaion for r-election! They said the woman was ill, not true. The man was the ill one as stated by the newspaper in his country. This is what Hussain wants the military reduced to, seal teams to fight wars! . Hussain is decimating our military 80 thousand at a time. He knows that there won't be a military to help we the people fight against his dictatorship! Hussain is pure evil!

    Most of us agree that Obama used this brave rescue mission as a political feather in his non-military cap which he wears on mass media broadcasts to show his leadership and cunning. Nothing can deminish the bravery and heroics of these great young men who risk their lives when given the order. Yet, watching this first Muslim/Communist president act as if he just won the battle of Okinawa, Siapan, or Phillipines is disgusting.

    NAVY SEALS ARE THE GREAT! Not taking anything away from them but I think this was held until election year for Obuma to take all the credit. Yes that's right our commander & Chief, you know the one who while the rest of us were serving our country was going to IVY League schools on our Dime. How does one do that with a welfare mommy & an absent Non American daddy ??? He certainly was never in Harm's way! But anyway you GO SEALS YOU KICK BUTT!

    YOU people are too much. The raid of this kind has to be approved by the CIC (President Obama). Like it or not President Obama has answered the 3AM phone call a number of times and has led strongoly as CIC. All my praise goes to the brave men of Seal Team 6 they are the best of the best that America has to offer……a JOB WELL DONE. However, these men did not act on their own orders. So dismissing the guts of the CIC to authorize such a raid is boh wrong and sour grapes on your part. Again, Job well done by all.

    Well they did a good job!! WOW!!!!!!!! like we didn't expect that huh??? How much money was this person worth????? I mean really… isn't that the only reason that the Seals are sent in?? Would they have been sent in if it had been a person without money, unless its OIL?? I have never heard of either one of these people till this story came out. obama got lucky on this one… if the Seals had not been successful what would the story have been then?? Would we have even heard about it?? Not NO…but H*ll NO… if it would have made obama look bad, we never would have heard anything of the whole story!
    That's the real TRUTH here!

    Obama will continue authorize these rescue operations ONLY until he is reelected. If Obama is reelected, he will apologize to Somalia, Pakistan, and every other country in which he authorized these rescue operations.
