Defense Department Expands Roles for Women

Women will soon be allowed to serve in about 13,000 Army positions that were previously closed to them, and Army officials said Thursday they are open to more combat-oriented roles for women in the years ahead.

Thursday’s announcement accompanied a 21-page report to Congress on the service of women in the military.

Officials said the positions, which include intelligence officers and other specialties, have been closed to women at the battalion level but open at the larger brigade level — a policy meant to keep women out of smaller units whose main mission was to engage in direct combat.

But the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have showed that the modern battlefield lacks the boundaries that used to define Army units’ roles, the Defense Department said in the report.

    The Isralies tried this and it did not work, failed, kaput, no work-o. Our military leadership is doing what Obama and his liberal weenies want…put women in harms way. The great unreported story about our women who get captured by the Muslims is….rape. I am former Viet vet with two daughters and I have done everything possible to get them not interested in the military, and have been successful. However, my son is a Marine. Putting women in harms way only compromises any situation when captured by the enemy or spending lonely nights in foxholes together. Seems the Thug Obama Team has a new socialist idea each day and this is today's flavor. What's for tomorrow Obama….lowering the draft age to 14 or building a special homosexual army to guard San Fran-Sick-O?????

    The fantasy that women can do everything a man can do equally well is a wonderful way to get many more people killed. A 120 pound woman in full combat gear cannot carry a 200 pound male out od a bad situation. Moving women to closer support roles of combat troops cuts down on the available billets for males to have a less dangerous duty situation.
    As to the Shelly meals for troops, what a load of cr-p . THE military is not the place for liberal social engineering. Just because you have a group that has to do what you say does not mean that your stupid ideal will work. It will most likely cause a degraded group and more people leaving.

    Its yet more liberal social experimentation. Show any young woman the first twenty minutes of 'Saving Private Ryan' and then ask her if she's willing to be on the frontlines. Most guys are not willing to see a young woman blown to bits in a foxhole, nor are they willing to see her raped by the Muslims when she gets captured. What the Feminazis don't get is this isn't sexism, but part of our biological hardwiring. We men are disposable, and we're programmed to protect the women in our lives because they are the future, only they can bear children. Just wait when one of these girls gets liberated from a POW camp and comes home pregnant from being raped by a prison guard. Muslims do not respect the Geneva Convention, just as they don't respect us, or our effette liberal leaders.
